Alternate Bearing ~ Project Core Team Meeting SUMMARY
The minutes from the previous meeting (9-3-96) were reviewed and accepted by the PCT.
Bernice Aboud presented the Materials Research objectives for the project to the group.
The breakdown of Bernice's objectives are listed below.
As of next weeks meeting, Monday, Sept-16th, at 8:45am in the Lab Conference
Room, we will meet each Monday in the Lab Conference room at 8:45am, We have
blocked this meeting time for the remainder of this year. Thanks for your time.
Materials Science (B.A.)
Short Term
Define hardness and microstructures parameters of forged inserts
Identify forging house technically capable of forging liner inserts using CCM+
Locate material (CCM+) for forging inserts for simulator products
Medium Term
Work with forging vendor on; tool, process, microstructure, test samples, etc.
Define specifications and measures needed to controll forgings in long term
Long Term
Investigate metal dissolution of selected couple in conjunction with simulator
testing and any additional outside (Jeremy Gilbert) testing
Support analysis of post simulator tested product via; SEM, EDS, etc.
Clinical (C.H.)
IDE contents checklist supplied to group. To coordinate with DePay Int. regulatory
group to generate IDE/EN540 requirements matrix,
Patent Review (M.M.)
Action required: Review current applicable patents and advise design group of any
liminatons or areas of potential infringement.
