I.
INTRODUCTION :
In order to further the Surgeon General's program, the services of highly qualified
consultants who are specialists in various fields of medicine are required.
The medical consultant must have had advanced education and training in all aspects
of his specialty and be cognizant of the most advanced research work being done in
his field.
Serves as National Consultant in above specialty to the Surgeon General, United
States Air Force.
II.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIE
1. Renders advice and assistance to the Surgeon General concerning specialty in
which qualified on the professional aspects, supervision, and over-all policy
required for the efficient operation of the USAF Medical Service. Advises the
Surgeon General in matters pertaining to relationships with various civilian medical
agencies.
2. Within certain highly specialized, controversial, and problem areas, is called
upon by the Surgeon General not only to render advice but to assist surgeons of
major air commands and commanders of hospitals and other medical installations on
all matters pertaining to the prevention of disease and care and treatment of the
sick and wounded.
3. During appointed tenure of duty, is often called upon to perform analytical
surveys of problem areas and to make advisory visits to Air Force medical installa-
tions for study of matters concerning his specialty.

Lectures and conducts clinics at various medical installations as required.
