MISSION
ASPEN members are health care profes-
sionals (physicians, nurses, dietitians, phar-
macists, nutritionists, etc.) dedicated to the
fostering of good nutritional support of pa-
tients during hospitalization and rehabilita
tion. By promoting the team approach and by
educating health care professionals at all
levels, ASPEN encourages the development
of improved nutritional support procedures
and improved patient care. ASPEN also
undertakes the development and validation
of guidelines for the nutritional assessment
and support of individuals in both disease
and health.
BENEFITS
ASPEN Members receive a variety of con-
crete benefits from their participation in the
Society.
First, ASPEN Members are kept informed of
important developments in the field of
clinical nutrition through a variety of ASPEN
publications.
Second, ASPEN-sponsored educational
materials support a wide program of na-
tional, regional, and local nutrition-related
educational activities.
Third, ASPEN meetings -- including the an-
nual Clinical Congress -- allow members to
learn of recent advances in clinical nutrition
knowledge and patient care and develop in-
terpersonal, professional communications.
As an added benefit, ASPEN meetings also
provide continuing education credit in the
areas of medicine, dietetics, nursing and
pharmacy.
